Jennifer Bain is a painter whose work is profoundly influenced by spirituality, nature, and their interplay with contemporary art. Her journey into the concept of art as a spiritual pursuit began at The Rudolph Steiner School in New York City, a renowned institution celebrated for its arts-focused curriculum and mystical philosophies.

Bain has dedicated her practice to creating art in series, delving into diverse painting styles that encompass both abstract and narrative forms. Her artwork has been exhibited in contemporary galleries across the U.S., Asia, and the Middle East. Her paintings are part of private and corporate collections, as well as being featured in healing environments such as The Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, UCLA, San Francisco General, and Stanford University Hospitals. After thirty-seven years in Oakland, California, she now lives and works in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

STATEMENT:

The concept of Birds on Plaids emerged from a self-portrait project where my passion for textiles and grid patterns offered an ideal foundation. This decision was instinctive rather than introspective, representing a blend of over twenty years of exploration in mark making, color, composition, and thematic development. The magnetism of painting for me is the mystery of creating ideas, mood or context from images. My fascination with a wide array of visual information results in work that reflects everything I observe.h
