ALLAN GORMAN

Allan Gorman's started a full-time painting career in 2013 after a forty-year career as an award-winning advertising creative director and agency owner.


His artwork has been featured in dozens of solo, museum, and gallery exhibits.  Four paintings are currently included in “LUSTER: Realism and Hyperrealism in Vehicle Art” traveling to sixteen US art museums through the Fall of 2022.  His work is included in Galeria ArteLibre's “20 Years in 20 x 20 Exhibition”, currently on view at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona Spain, and he also has work on view in the 2022 New Jersey Arts Annual at the NJ State Museum in Trenton, NJ. In 2020, three of his paintings were acquired for the permanent collection of the Savoy Automobile Museum in Cartersville, Georgia, and a painting was selected for inclusion in the Coupolouzos Family Museum in Athens, Greece.  

 

In 2013, and again in 2022, Allan Gorman was awarded a Fellowship for Painting from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.  In 2011, he was awarded a resident fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center and was invited back again in 2014 and 2018. In 2016, he was selected for a fellowship residency by the ESKFF Foundation at Mana Contemporary. He was chosen as "Architectural Artist of the Year" in ADC's Art Comes Alive! 2021; First Place in J.Mane Gallery's Cityscapes Competition (2021); recipient of the "John Collins Award for Oil Painting" and the "Salmagundi Award" from the American Artist's Professional League; the "Pioneer of Realism" award from the International Guild of Realism; and he was honored as one of the 100 Grandmasters of Realist Art, sponsored by the Salon Des Beaux Arts.
 
His artwork has been featured dozens of print and electronic publications, and is included in numerous corporate and private collections.
